Too Blind to Swallow

I spared my time for you just this once
and in return you threw me a punch.
A rigorous one at that, that throbbed brutally.
Remember, one day I shall possess the opportunity
to demonstrate to you the power of our once true unity.

I should have not held faith in you
when you announced you sought to hear from me.
Yet, I held and lent you the key
and in return you threw it into the sea.

Though, through all this I shall still praise you.
You, enabled to find yourself in the sea that is blue
while you held nothing true.
Inside continuously, you were hollow,
a sight that I was too blind to swallow.

I hope you all are keeping well and happy with your days.

Today I was kind of set a back. I was supposed to meet with a friend I haven’t seen in years and was excited. That friend had other intentions and so it inspired me.

I don’t know why people choose to taunt us and make us believe something when they have no true intention. But, we still believe they are meaning well.
